Old Photos II
Some more pictures I recently found
of the 1995 derailment about 1/2 of a mile from my old home that accelerated
CN's track replacement program.
Some photos of this derailment were
on the page when we started it, here's another view from the freeway overpass
immediately west of the RR. A covered hopper and two tankcars occcupy I-696
with a state trooper and MDOT truck.
VIA 6426 leads the International out
of the 'old' St Clair Tunnel bore and into the Port Huron yard. At this
time the train had to make a backing move into the station because of the
new track alignment being done with the 'new' St Clair Tunnel.
